the story: Being a regular sufferer of rather extreme pms I have found it necessary to track my cycle on a regular basis, (thus predicting my bad days so I don't feel like I'm crazy). I noticed that other period charts were too vague for my needs, (noting only the days on which the period occurs). This format is based on a generic card made in 1950 given to me by my gynocologist entitled "Your Personal Menstrual Calendar", and allows you to see several months at a glance. I have developed my own methods of tracking based on my cycle. Experiment to discover your own. As you track your cycle you will notice interesting patterns on the grid. You may want to create a code to see when full moons occur and track any correllations.

I find I really enjoy tracking my cycle on the grid. It has made a uncomfortable situation (read: extreme depression and uncontrollable anger/hopelessness) into more of an artistic experience. I glued the chart into the back of my journal with a red tab on the page so i can find it easily. It has not made the pms go away but it does help me to embrace it a little more.

my formula (yours may be different): Mark your period using the codes on the legend. From the first day count forward 28 days, make a mark. Count back eight days. This is the pms zone, pms will occur within a two day span in either direction. (in my case I am able to warn my friends and family so they don't feel that I hate them and want to kill them.)

note: if you have any recommendations for pms remedies/cures/aids that you find work for you, please feel free to email them to me.
