"Everybody is ORIGINAL.
If they tell the truth and speak
from their
true self, not the self they think they should be. So remember these
two things: you are TALENTED
and you are ORIGINAL.
Be sure of that."
-Brenda Ueland
I keep a journal of writings, quotes, and
questions. It is the ongoing project that is my life. For a
long time I felt I wasn't disciplined enough to write all the time.
But now I don't pressure myself and just write when I feel like it.
It is the most fulfilling thing to see notebooks filling up with words
and images.
Here are some recent favorite books to inspire,
Wisdom of the Heart -Henry Miller, Drinking the
Rain --Alix Kates Shulman, Learning by Heart --Corita
Kent, Succulent Wild Woman --Sark.
Henry Miller says,
"the important thing I learned
from making watercolours, was not to worry, not to care too much.
We don't have to turn out a masterpiece everyday. To paint is the
thing, not to make masterpieces."
How beautiful is that? It helps to
take away the pressure when we start a creative act. Something I
try to do every day when working. I find the hardest thing is to
start, if I can get past that I can experience a state of joy.
For the last five years I have published a newsletter
& story to my snail-mail list. It updates friends, family, and
people who are interested in my career/life, discusses my latest endeavors,
and gives me a chance to share
my latest inspirations & quotes. The list contains people from
all over the world including Australia, Japan, the Netherlands, US, England,
Hungary and many more. If you would like to join the list please
e-mail me with your address, I would be happy to add you.
Thank-you to the many people who have written me with inspiration, for
interviews, with work, and just to chat. Your feedback and interest is
greatly appreciated.
You are cordially invited
to email me with your thoughts,
questions, musings. I love to make new
friends.
