Posted by: Erika on February 19, 2007 09:54 PMI love this project and will try it myself! I love that I've found someone who is as irritated by contemporary vernacular as I am! And shortening words drives me nuts!
Posted by: Noelle on February 19, 2007 07:01 PMI beg to differ that the little girl looks anything like me. Maybe you need some glasses. Anyone who reads this... I am hours away from a writing contest and I would really like to win. I must read in front of large audience tonight. Please send me some positive energy and some confidence. Thanks so much. This means you too Keri. love Jen
Please send it in the direction of Whistler.
That is such an awesome Idea!
Posted by: Erika on February 19, 2007 01:56 AMThere is an article in my local Sunday newspaper about guerrilla artists in Portland's 5.15-acre city park, Forest Park. Mentioned in the piece was a "painstakingly crafted" metal macaw place high in a NW fir tree. It is a long article also mentioning a street artist who ties hundreds of toy horses to sidewalk loops around the city.
It is accessible online if you are interested, Keri. Search: Oregonian
Headline: Guerrilla Artists Invade New Space: Forest Park
Section of Newspaer: Metro NW
There is a picture in the Real Time newspaper of the bird in the tree. I can send if you have a file collection of guerrilla artistry.
