(*It works best if you can print on cardstock.)

I'll write more in the morning. But right now Truman Capote calls.

fwiw, I would change the box design so that the top lid tab (where it says "glue here") has tabs coming off the side of the main tab... the lid would then held closed by friction with no need to glue. We had a hard time feeding the notes into the little hole and there's a large chance of the end slipping inside... that way it can be rescued. We ended up taping shut the sides anyways. Just one amateur opinion... thanks again! I'll add you to my RSS and come back often!

thanks so much for the secret note thingie! (followed a link from... somewhere... meggiecat I think)

so fun! we've already printed out about a dozen for my kids (age 5 and 7... though the two-year-old twins think THEY are old enough too) to make for their cousins. They want to make them for their K and 1st grade classes. We'll see...

We used our graphics program to change the color balance so we have pink ones, purple ones, orange ones, blue ones. I'm going to put secret notes in their lunch on monday, but don't tell them. ;-) thanks!

Yay! SO much fun! Thank you for giving me a glimpse of my childhood. It's been YEARS since I've played with glue!

No link, nothing to see for me too, on a pc / using internet explorer...

Posted by: ymke on January 11, 2006 08:11 AM

no, there is no link showing up at all. I saw what it was supposed to look like while I was on the mac and I even tried clicking around randomly to see if the link was just invisible, but nothing was there.

Keri,
I'm on a pc and had no problems. My Acrobat Reader 7.0 opened it. Maybe if they try right clicking on the pdf format link and then click Save Target As (Internet Explorer) or Save Link As (Firefox) the printable would just download and wouldn't have to be opened by Acrobat online.

hmmmn. that's strange. I'm working on it.

Thank you for sharing this little treat. From one kid at heart to another!

I remember, when I was little, my American Girl books had a very similar project like this. They also suggested buying little things (horse figurines, candy, whatever) and wrapping them up in crepe paper rolled into a crepe paper ball.
I love the printable paper projects!

Is that Capote ... the movie? I saw it a couple nights ago and really liked it. The book is on my nightstand now. I had no idea! Would love to hear what you think. :)
