my ipod. rainblow bubble gum. glam lip gloss. anti depressants.
an eyelash curler. a love note. a magenta sharpie marker.
crumbs from muffin. loose change. and a fake eyeball rubber ball. hope this doesnt mean anything about my inner life.
a worn out old fortune from a cookie, a kleenex (ew), bobby pins, a business card for the restaurant Oyster Boy (for the hubby), a crumpled price tag i peeled off of something.
Posted by: amanda on January 5, 2006 10:36 AMNo pockets, but oh, the things my husband collects in his pockets: legos, checkers, hair ties, bobby pins, screws, sales receipts, keys, pens and pencils, markers, crayons . . . The list goes on and on.
Posted by: Sherry on January 5, 2006 10:19 AMI love this! The tampon was daring to post! LOL!
I did something similar over the Xmas break with all the girls. (big and small ranging in ages from 5-granny age!) We all dumped our purses one at a time and arranged everything really cute. We took photos of our purse contents, purse and part of our body.....hand, knee, shoe, etc. Then, I made an accordian board book with all the photos and turned the book into a purse. Its so dang cute! The most fun was seeing what the little girls carry. One had like 20 Bonne Bell Lip glosses. A 13 year old had her IPOD Nano, Napoleon Dynamite stuff, makeup, money, etc. The moms had lists, lists, lists, medicines, keys, etc. The grannys had tissues, thick wallets, pretty compacts, etc. So fun to compare!!!
WHAT'S IN YOUR PURSE? (sorry guys!)
Posted by: rosieposie on January 4, 2006 07:27 PMi don't like to 'keep' things in my pocket. if i do i constantly check what's there. i empty pockets when i come in from being outside. i wonder what that means?
Posted by: Dawn on January 4, 2006 03:17 PMI love that you put "from my husband" under the love note, as if to separate it from all the others. I picture you out doing errands, all the while collecting love notes from admirers, fans, devotees and strangers in the street. Once home you deposit your collection of love notes on the kitchen table, and begin sorting... "Ah yes, here is one from my husband, I will put that back in my pocket."
hee hee!
Just the button I have to sew back on.

3x5 card or two for notes to myself.
Right Pocket of Pants: 5 shiny pennies all 2005,

nickel, a small buck knife with locking blade. I have heard this is a Southern thing, seems I am often the only one in a group of folks that has a knife available when a knife is called for. It got a lot use during Christmas gift opening!
Left Pocket of Pants: White linen hanky in rose pattern,2 tissues, green stone that says TRUTH
(by my side?)Blistex Herbal lip balm.Extra elastic hair band (black,no metal) These are a few of my favorite things!

your pocket ingredients put a smile on my face.
i found in mine a movie ticket to Chronicles of Narnia, a tiny piece of a sticky candy cane, one advil, a bobby pin and a black hair tie...oh and green fuzz (if that counts since my coat was green).
it's a good way to learn about someone, isn't it? perhaps at the next party i go to, i'll ask what people are carrying in their pockets. i'll make sure to clarify myself as not to offend anyone!!
;-) thanks keri. merry new year to you and your hubs.
Posted by: Bohemiangirl on January 3, 2006 11:17 PMI didn't think I had anything very interesting in my pocket, but I checked anyway. I found a glove and a $5.00 bill.
Posted by: Stephanie on January 3, 2006 10:46 PMA tube of my "magic" lipstick that always makes me feel more beautiful just in case, a couple of crumpled dollar bills and the receipt that came with them. Wish I had a pretty blue love not like yours!
Posted by: patry on January 3, 2006 09:45 PMtwo pearls, red lipstick,a bankcard and a gift voucher from xmas.
Posted by: kate on January 3, 2006 08:50 PMI'm amazed you have a coaster in your pocket.

Posted by: Suzette on January 3, 2006 01:12 PMfrom my overalls:
tissues
seven bobby pins
* i bet this would have been much more interesting if i'd looked when i switched apartments two weeks ago...overalls (and the number of pockets they have) are great for moving.
there aren't any pockets on what i'm wearing today so here goes the few items in the side pocket of my bag:
shockproof (lol) 128MB flash drive
2 packets of tissue paper
Body Shop cocoa lip balm
some coins
Determine to find a pocket with something in it- I went on a search. Nothing here...nothing there. I keep most things in my purse. And you said pocket, not purse.
Finally, after digging my hand in several pockets I found the goldmine, and nearly everything in my pocket was like finding a lost friend!
lipstick!
50€ (Euro)
half a stick of gum
a button to my raincoat!
paper tape measure with the address of a second hand store on it.
I don't have too many things in my pockets, but you had said before that you can tell a lot about a person from what they carry around. now i always have something fun in my purse...lately it's been a little watercolor kit and watercolor post cards!! Your blog is the greatest!!
Posted by: Erika on January 3, 2006 01:52 AMThis is fabulous! Once when we lived in the deep deep south I went to an art opening and ate a bunch of shrimp. the tails I wrapped in a napkin but since I couldn't find a garbage can, I put the napkin in my pocket. A week later while doing laundry, my husband screamed, "SHRIMPTAILS!"
We're still married despite what musta been super-gross. He always jokes about how mnay random ridiculous things I carry in my pocket. What shrimptails do you have? he asks. My list is almost identical to yours, Keri. Carry everything, except parts of shrimp...
Hi KEri,
You must have big pockets =)
now my purse and, or backpack...
it would take a space bigger then this to list it all =)
N a m a s t e,

I loved your, "blue thing." I pick up stuff like that on my walks to add to my collage supplies :) Right now I have a cold so my right pocket contains clean kleenex, and the left pocket, used Kleenex that needs to go in the trash. For your own good, no pictures will be posted.
My clothes don’t have pockets so I looked in the side pocket of my backpack which I carry everywhere and found the following items:
Several pens, a pencil, an old Batman PEZ dispenser, postcards, a quarter, an earring , a nail, a piece of blue ribbon, an old bus transfer, one scrunched up napkin and one clean napkin, a cassette tape, and matches. I followed your lead and blogged about it today. I even included a picture.
where is your chalk? LOL you make me smile. Thanks
Alexis
Three hair bands, my sons' small car, three pieces of hard candy, a coffee receipt and two pennies.
Posted by: Jodi on January 2, 2006 05:01 PMNothing! In my jeans pockets at least. In my coat pocket I know I have my house keys and my green mittens. Normally I have hair bands in my pockets, and when I put on a pair of jeans I haven't used for a little while I will find that silver elastic I've been looking for... I like pockets.
