portentous may not be what you think

"I look at things as if they have a life and language of their own." ~Jurgen Bey

everyday life has all the answers

some things of note

...i put up a new shop with some of my collages for sale.

...added a few more items to 'fun with stickers' page on flickr.

...a wonderful site for fellow gleaners.

...the definition of portentous is "of ominious significance". which is not what I was expecting. Try using it in a sentence.

...I'm in love with these posters.

...so I'm going to make my own using this cheap screen printing tutorial.

...need a quick gift for someone? the pocket mod, is a free printable personal organizer you can customize, using the same folding technique as the magic book.

Thanks for the Portable Tree. I just printed it out and sent it as a little kit with markers, scissors and glue to some friends that are always in transit at the holidays.

I tried the pocket mod a couple months ago, but I actually didn't like it as well as your Magic Book. The mod didn't fold as nicely, and the margins were wonky. Eh, who needs margins, anyway? :-)

Those posters made me think of this company in Knoxville, TN: http://www.yeehawindustries.com/new/printshop.html. Before I abandoned my hometown of Knoxville for Atlanta several years ago, I enjoyed their work, and your link to those posters reminded me. Thank you! You might also be interested in reading about their process on the site. It's an interesting shop that they have, and very fun to learn about the company's beginnings, as well as their creative process.

Tell us how you're doing with the screen printing thing, I was going to try it out (with the exact same tutorial) this summer, and even got as far as buying some of the supplies - but then nothing more happened. So I'm curious.

I just recently did that exact screenprinting tutorial--it works wonderfully! It's especially nice for just doing plain flower designs or other patterns. My brother tried it with the Andy Warhol portrait of Marilyn Monroe and it turned out really well. Can't wait to see pictures!

Thanks for the pocketmod and magic book links. I think the magic book link is broken though. I got to it via your directory.
