Posted by: Jillian H. on November 20, 2005 09:31 AMI once forgot to go to a conference. That doesn't sound too bad until you realize that I was one of the co-panelists, so -- because I had the date mixed up -- there was an empty chair at the front of the room all morning long because I was a "no show." NOT GOOD. I was totally distraught, guilt-ridden, engaged in mental self-flagellation, doing major freakouts -- you name it -- until I realized that this was life's way of telling me that I was trying to do too many things: I needed to have fewer things on my calendar at any given time. So that horrible experience was actual a valuable learning experience for me in the end, and an experience I've shared with a lot of other people along the way.
Posted by: Ann D on November 19, 2005 03:21 PMI just bought a set of Oblique Strategies cards last summer and one for my blog partner in Prague. We plan to use them as challenge posts--I love the way they jumpstart your imagination or stir things up in the brain.
Posted by: frida on November 19, 2005 01:11 PMi like that. its hard to really think of failures and mistakes as maybe doing something good. i needed to hear that, thank you for sharing.
