Cut one random shape out of several layers of a magazine. Make a collage out of the result.

Thank you for sharing your days, your art, your life....
I am so excited about your classes! I would love to take a class from ... think many many would sign up for an online class.
Thought it would be fun to send you a little Christmas gift as a "thank you" for the inspiration you have given me...... is there an address I can send it to?
Happy autumn day to you!

Posted by: Tricia Robinson on November 3, 2005 12:34 PMI'm a magazine fiend, so I love this idea. It inspired my entry yesterday for 'Art EveryDay Month,' which is a 30-day challenge started three years ago by Kat's Paws (www.katspaws.blogs.com), where you make 'art' every day in November (sorta like NaNoWriMo, only with art instead of a novel). Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!
Posted by: maria on November 3, 2005 08:09 AMThis is a great idea.
Posted by: Alex on November 3, 2005 12:34 AMto slake means to quench. used several times by saramago in a novel of his i'm currently trudging through {though it is indeed good} and wishing to slake my desire to read something else. thick his words are. a dense forest becomes blinding. as always, i love the collage, but is it silly to say that of my wife's work? perhaps i don't tell her enough.
Posted by: jeff pitcher on November 2, 2005 10:06 PMLove this. It is kind of like mystery creating-just start and stand back and see the results. Very fun. I will have to try this with the extra mags laying around. Great stuff Keri! I think it would be great to do with a lot of text. Cheers!
Posted by: Holly on November 2, 2005 08:40 PMthat is the perfect idea! funny how the simplest things can produce such interesting results! thank you for sharing.... i will have to try it.

Posted by: la vie en rose on November 2, 2005 12:33 PMHave been wondering what to do for Christmas cards this year. Stars instead of circles would be ideal! Thanks Keri!
Posted by: kim on November 2, 2005 12:04 PMA wonderful idea - it's so simple and fun and it prompted me to do my first collage for years. I especially loved the element of surprise as I sorted through my cut out shapes and saw what I had to work with. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Posted by: Marilyn on November 2, 2005 07:55 AMSlaking?
I wondered the same thing.
Is he referring to the Pokemon SLAKING?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slaking
You know how nouns become verbs ~ for instance, the first thing I did was google it when searching for slaking. Perhaps Pokemon has infiltrated our society thus that it has become a part of everyday descriptive language.
Or perhaps I've had too much sun.
;)
Either one. :)
*wanders off to find a pokemon addict to ask*
oh now THAT is tasty keri!
what a delightful idea :)
thank you for the inspiration... thank you for being you!
blessings,
