"I want to know a lot of things I don't already know -especially as the things I do know, if written down, do not have the permanence I want in my mind." ~Richard Tuttle (sculpture collage artist)

you cannot walk on the floor in my studio without stepping on collage or glue. my feet are covered in it.
Posted by kerismith at August 10, 2005 09:56 AMI love that you make collages, and that you saved that one. Good!
Posted by: Hanna on August 14, 2005 09:48 AMThanks for the UCD link...here you are a continent away and turning me onto something into my new town. See, you're gonna like it here. ;)
Posted by: Marilyn on August 11, 2005 07:54 AMI too saw this documentary on PBS's P.O.V. show. It was fascinating. I checked out the P.O.V. website, and it had even more neat stuff!

Posted by: Deboroh t on August 10, 2005 04:47 PMKeri, I am so much liking these collages. Please have a show. In Toronto, would be nice. They are wonderful.
Posted by: Kim on August 10, 2005 02:44 PMThank you for reminding me that there are so many beautiful things in this world that are worthy of a few moments of our time. I'm looking forward to reading the Price book when it's released, and such a lovely picture of you two!

Just saw Realms of the Unreal on KQED public television out here in SF. Look for it on TV when you get out this way, if'n you haven't bought the dvd yet. It's really fantastic.
Posted by: Alanna on August 10, 2005 01:36 PMKeri,
I was wondering how big these collages actually are? Just curious and inspired- Thank you!
while the book, the film, the exhibit at moma and so forth are all indeed worthy of notice, my favorite link was the one about the boy. is it silly for me to come here and write about how terribly i miss my wife? ugh. perhaps you people can try to talk her into changing her plane ticket for tomorrow, as i don't seem to be having much luck. wanna go to moma with me?
for some reason, this collage makes me think of a deserted tank bathed in color. an interesting idea perhaps, if not overly cliche. turning something potentially so ugly into something beautiful. but i digress. one should never trash a piece of art, only transform it, let it continue to move and live, for it is all valid.
Posted by: jeff pitcher on August 10, 2005 01:13 PMI REALLY like the cover of Dan Price's book and I am like one of those persons who would easily buy a book just for the beauty of a cover...
And I guess sticky feet after working in your studio for a day is never as bad as disgusting smelly feet with fungus after working a day at the local pool, right? So will you wiggle your sticky feet for me once more?
Miles of smiles,
Astrid.
Posted by: Astrid on August 10, 2005 12:30 PMThanks for the list - the show in NY looks awesome and I'm so excited to hear about Dan Price's new book!!
I love the collage too!!!
Posted by: stefanie on August 10, 2005 11:41 AMSo nice to know I'm not the only one whose floor could be mistaken for the final art project... I like this one too. You do a lot with circles... it's interesting how they show up as a regular theme. I'm wondering if it's intentional or not... I discoverd that for years fish ended up in a ton of my art. Then later, after my dad died, and my mom and I had lots of talks trying to sort all sorts of stuff out she reminded me that both of them were Pisces.
Interesting list items too...
