Posted by: eliane on August 2, 2005 09:18 PMI love the ideas list! Thanks so much for them. Beautiful quote by Picasso. All the quotes you post always remind me of one of my famous Neruda quotes, something to the effect of, "Poetry does not belong to the writer, but to the ones who need it most"...
Posted by: Jillian on August 2, 2005 08:27 PMExactly what I was looking for keri. Thank you!
Posted by: m on August 2, 2005 05:46 PMMaybe that is why I feel as if I am about to burst these days - I have been a receptacle in so many ways, and I need to CREATE and RELEASE!!
Posted by: Swirly on August 2, 2005 01:34 AMI remember the first time I saw a Pablo Picasso original - it was a series of his etchings hanging in the Queensland Art Museum, Aus.
I GASPED when I saw them. They were just so remarkable how he could construct these figures with simple *lines*. With the rarest, simplest touch of line, he evoked the wildest of imagery.
It still stays with me.

Laura Hamor, I also feel SO tired, SO often.
It's worse when I am holding on to creativity with a tight grasp and not sharing my inner life.
I think one must spill daily or the garbage begins to back up in the receptacle and cloud the good stuff.
Keri,
Sorry, this comment is not related to your Picasso entry but to your new IDEAS section. This is what I really really like about you; I am not an artist but I love creativity and your inspirational ideas are just wonderful. I can't draw to save my life but I'll have a go at my bike, or breakfast, anyway. I am not so sure about hanging upside down but I am sure about this: I have a very personal journey ahead of me that will require lots of effort and work and I decided to make it more fun and bearable by using some of your creative ideas and coming up with some of my own, too. I have already scribbled lots of notes in my copy of your book for this purpose.
Thank you so much, Kerstin
Yay, Picasso! I agree. And, I have experienced ideas hopping across continents, through and to people/friends who feel connected. A few weeks ago I woke up out of a dream in which two spiders were feeding on my skin. One was a brownish translucent one and the other was a black widow and very large. That morning I got an email from Joan Laage, my Seattle butoh dancer friend currently living in Poland (her butoh company is called Dappin' Butoh). She asked me to translate a poster into French for her upcoming Butoh performance in Paris. Title of the performance: The Black Widow (La Veuve Noire). I told Joan about my spider dream. She said she wasn't surprised and that she may incorporate that into the piece.
