I saw Arta (not her real name) standing on the sidewalk in front of the library yesterday. She was holding several books under her arm, and reluctantly said hello as we walked past. Her kerchief was bright pink, such a great contrast to her dour contenance. She seemed to be waiting for someone, or something.

Posted by: A on April 28, 2005 02:59 PMthese details I am loving: the sassy little scarf that francine is wearing. the way simon has his eyes closed. arta's cheeks and head scarf. and is it just me or does vic seem just a tad grouchy?...
all great characters, keri. I am enjoying them all.
Posted by: andrea j on April 28, 2005 01:20 PMI really love these faces, these people. In Elizabeth's Berg newest Book, her character (Betta) has a habit of cutting out photos of people from newspapers and magazines, pasting them in scrapbooks, and spending lots of time going through the pages and making up different stories for and connections between all of them. I think Betta would love your people.
