Oh! Now I get it. Use it for absolutely anything. For a couple of visits to your website, my brain locked and I kept think, "now what should I do with this little paper folding exercise?" I like the idea of making a drawing, folding it up inside this little package and mailing it off to someone. Widebluesky.
Posted by: Paige on March 16, 2005 04:52 PMthis is how they wrap chinese herbs in the medicinal halls in chinatown. with garishly pink paper :) that have red chinese words stamped on them [typically the name of the medicinal hall]
thanks for illustrating it out.
Posted by: stef on March 14, 2005 02:22 PMThis would also be really handy for seeds collected in the wild or someone's garden--with permission, of course!--which is the only way one should "take" a plant from the wild.
Posted by: zephyr on March 13, 2005 02:59 PMThe one I have is about 17 inches by 14 inches, flat. But it's proportional and not exact, you can use any size (as long as it's a rectangle), and wrap anything. Use any paper you have, even newspaper!
I bought tea at the Red Tea Box that was packaged this way. The tea inside was in a square zip lock bag.

It doesn't really relate, but I think you'll enjoy it nonetheless. :)
What a great tutorial! We always look for fun stuff to do with paper and this is perfect for my kids' little secrets...writing little notes and drawings for sending in the mail. How about that? L
Posted by: Lizette on March 12, 2005 10:40 PMDitto to Poppy's question! Looks like a fabulously useful thing to know. Just the other day I used a coffee filter to make some thyme tea; I suppose you could cut a rectangle out of one...?

Posted by: matt on March 12, 2005 04:01 PMOne quick question Keri ... what type of paper/gauze /fabric would I make the tea pocket with? Oh, and where would I buy it?
