today the empty cloth grocery bag I was carrying caught the wind, and blew open like a bullfrog.
i made a game out of it, trailing it beside me like a balloon.
up, down, up, down. smiling.
i dislike the wind. it makes things seem colder than they are.
so i pretended that I had captured it and was holding it prisoner until the spring comes.
take that winter.
you are no match for me.
Funny, on mornings like this, I couldn't catch the wind if I tried. My kids are usually pulling me through it like a hesitant water skier.

Can you package some of that cool air up tightly in a box and send out here to me in Oz. A couple of mornings ago we woke to a beautiful clear crisp autumn morning ... which lasted all of one day and then the hot, steamy, humid weather came back and we are all dripping and drooping again. How I long to feel the cool air on my skin! Two generations on and I still have English blood flowing in my veins.
