Fun illustrations. I am with you here. Back in CA it is 85 today and I am wondering why I moved to the midwest? :)

layers are the solution! you can wear a t-shirt under the thin white shirt with the jean jacket over top. and the vintage skirt over brown linen pants or perhaps with legwarmers.... and a toque and a scarf. (it is still toque weather here in edmonton.) that way you can wear some spring clothes before the weather warms up. yay!

It will be nice to just to be able to wear bare feet.

Lurker coming out of the woodwork. Hello, all.

I feel for all you northerners. However, down here in central Texas people are already wearing shorts and flip-flops and getting tan (I'm sitting here in the library with no shoes on). Almost 80 degrees F out here. It's not fair, I know. But it's fun. ;)

Here's to spring's soon arrival.

Cute drawing, by the way!

I just read your blog and Jeff's, and I have a question. What causes you to stay where you live? I know there is beauty to the cold, the snow, but the endless winter also seems to take its toll. What are the benefits?

I just finished Anita Shreve's latest book called Light On Snow. I thought of you. It takes place in Northern New Hampshire, and going for a walk means snowshoeing. Different world. I can't relate. I am currently sitting in my living room, looking outside and seeing beautiful, sunny skies (unusual for Oregon, but I'll take it). I also wore brown linen pants, a t-shirt and jean jacket yesterday. All three on your list. Today, capri's I think. Spring is coming...I can feel it.

we have had a few days of sun out here in seattle...and so i have been all smiles...i pulled out a few skirts...and flip-flops...but imagine they will soon be going back in the closet for another few months.

just wear the flip-flops in the house and pretend.

I'll take those snowpants! I'm in t-shirt and shorts here in Los Angeles---pretty ridiculous for a Snowbear.

I want to wear them too, can I borrow a few items...tee hee
Yes me too I am itching for spring so my body can feel the breeze.

Keri,

You rule. I froze my butt off yesterday trying to pretend it was ever-so-slightly warmer than it really was. Today the longjohns were definitely back on. Sigh.

That is why I am going to Canada Blooms this week.

Here in Boston, we received yet more snow yesterday. Looking at my snow boots, inspiration struck and I sat down at the sewing machine. I am now the proud owner of a pair of wool flip-flop socks.

I'm so over wearing my hiking boots for shoveling. My tevas are crying under my bed cause they aren't getting any use and we're supposed to get another storm on Friday thus foiling my trip to IKEA!
*sob*

I check in on your site all the time and recently bought your book. just wanted to say that i find your writing really inspiring and motivating; especially during a time of self-imposed creative frustration. Anyway... i do the same thing every season! i get really excited about all the clothes i want to get (but can never afford) and end up writing lists about them and doing flat sketches (that's lingo from my now defunct fashion design background). i've been doing this since i was a little kid. thanks for sharing!!

This reminds me exactly of drawings I used to do when I was a kid. Except for me it was "things I want to wear very badly (because I do not yet own them)."
I would have so much fun making them that seeing your drawing reminds me a little of that childhood happiness.
