Posted by kerismith at August 17, 2004 09:00 PMyay! i think i sent you a thank you post card with a mention about this candy in it. it's so much fun to see your drawing of it- i love the images on those boxes.
too bad the stickers haven't been as good lately. oh well.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for always painting and quoting and being an inspirational force to be reckoned with (with risk of sounding like a paperback reviewer.)!
Posted by: j on August 24, 2004 12:35 PMI have a request. Can you draw a parrot in your unique way? I have a sponsor child that lives in Bolivia who requested that I send her a picture of a parrot. I was thinking that I could get as many artists as I could to give me a quick sketch or drawing of parrots as a gift for her! I will understand if you can't do this! Thanks!
Posted by: PInky on August 24, 2004 08:33 AMI love rice candy. There's one kind whose wrapper dissolves in one's mouth. So the whole thing is edible.

hi keri-- I really enjoy your still life drawings!
:)maia
I *love* rice candy!
Posted by: Sherry on August 19, 2004 04:40 PMi think it was a car sticker. it fell out of my journal a while ago. I must say these candies have the strangest texture. if you bite them they seem to 'bounce back'!
Posted by: Keri Smith on August 19, 2004 10:27 AMi too LOVE this candy!!!
what sticker did you get?
You just drew a picture of my favourite candy in the world, ever. When I lived in Hawaii as a kid, my brother and I would walk three miles to the nearest liquor store to buy boxes of Tomoe Ame rice candy and Koala Springs currant juice. For lack of anything better to do. :)
And Ulysses is still the best book I've ever read, with the most satisfying ending, so I appreciate the quote. What a nice way to start the day!
