more random sketches

Sometimes a quick sketch is enough to get one off and running in the morning.

I saw an interview with Bill Whitehead, the partner of author Timothy Findley yesterday. He said the thing that "TIFF" struggled with most was rather mundane. It was "getting to the desk" everyday. Pushing through that urge to do anything but the writing. It always helps to hear that others struggle with this too.

I was wondering how you get such excellent colours?! is it paint? or pastels? curious :)

I've enjoyed the randoms sketches over the past couple of posts...makes me want to pick up a pencil, pen whatever and just sketch what's in front of me.

I just picked up SARK's newest book, "Make Your Creative Dreams Real : A Plan for Procrastinators, Perfectionists, Busy People, and People Who Would Really Rather Sleep All Day", and I'm hoping that it might help me break this block! Procrastination sucks!

"Getting to the desk." That's a nice, simple way to think about it. I like it. Maybe I'll try to make it a rule that I'm not allowed to do anything but write once I sit down at my desk, sleeping included.

Lovely sketches, by the way.

Oh my. My work schedule expanded this spring to just under full-time status. I am having such a hard struggle finding time for my art. My art is what keeps me sane and it's certainly taking a back seat these days. Thanks for the reminder that I need to re-double my efforts to make the time and the mental space for "getting to the desk", or in my case, to the sewing machine.
