1. Please can I go outside today without my snowpants?
no.
2. Please could I stop trying to push the river for five minutes?
yes, that is up to you.
3. What will I see/experience today that is beautiful?
big snow 'cakes', Adelaide the dog smiling and running top speed to meet me and then rolling in the snow, the smell of a purple hydrangea, a newfie accent, the sound of the river, the sun (thank you)
4. How many times do I have to recieve the same lesson before I get it?
As many as it takes.
5. What should I do with all my fears?
Sit with them. They cannot hurt you.
6. What could I do today to take care of myself?
Give something away.
7. Will I ever see spring again? I'm beginning to forget what birds sound like.*
be patient.
*Though I did enjoy making snow angels today until the snow went up my pants.
Write down a list of questions. Go for walk. Let the answers come to you.

Posted by: martha on February 2, 2004 11:11 AMI'm so glad I don't have snow. I'm thankful.
Posted by: T Kitten on February 1, 2004 11:02 AMI'm going out with my snow pants to take some black and white street panorama photos. I hope my snow pants don't freeze. Also, I just picked up living out loud yesterday, and love it.

Your list of questions reminds me of how I was feeling this week...it was a push/pull kind of week. A big one for me is being aware of the difference between planning (being the organizational fool that I am) and projecting (pretending I can assume what's going to happen). Reminding myself to stay present in the moment. I, too, try to sit with my fears...and then use those suckers like booster rockets to propel me to the next planet in my emotional galaxy.
Posted by: Marilyn on January 31, 2004 05:40 AMThis is how I have been feeling all winter. All winter? No, much longer.
I particularly like the statement "stop trying to push the river." Oh, yeah.
I guess it's good to remember that the lilacs will bloom again-- without our help, without our complaints, without any struggles on our part at all.
That is a good idea - that is to write down a list of questions and let the answers come to you!
I will do the same!
have a good weekend!
