vacation, n. derives from the Latin vacatio, meaning "freedom, exemption".
"Winter is clenched teeth, turned-up collars, the grim hard business of survival, in nature or at the office." -Frederic Morton
Blizzard-like conditions have descended on the village. Into survival mode I keep myself busy tending the fire and standing over a pot of split-pea soup with an open book at hand.
Posted by kerismith at December 30, 2003 09:53 AMHi Kerri,
Happy New Year! I thought you might get a kick out of knowing that Cartier has a baby wear line by Eric Carle! Lucky Josh got one for Christmas inspired by "Panda Bear..." I have been a secret admirer of your website for awhile. It is a great place to visit for inspiration, a little laughter or for a little trip down memory lane(the beach, the yayas etc).
Posted by: Lesley on January 4, 2004 12:49 PMHappy happy new year to one of the inspired souls that has given me something to enjoy every day in my drugery at work. I aspire to be on my own in illustration like you.
Purchasing your book with one of my gift certificates this week...
Good luck in the year ahead,
Kate
I had Split Pea soup last night
at the cabin and Leftovers this morning.
Reading The Purpose
Driven Life by Rick Warren.
Today I am going to make my ddil some of
those Transformation Dice of yours, like
I did for my dd out of wooden blocks, and send
them along with their Wedding Gift my ds and ddil forgot to take back with them to Sweden. She was upset that they forgot to pack it. I had taken a photograph of their names in the sand with a heart around it and developed it in my Darkroom class. Three of the same photo but different developing methods.
I am staying home today. It is snowing and icy on the roads.
I would love to be putting wood on a fire. We have electric only.
Yesterday I made a green/blue Snow Kat/Cat. I sprayed it with food coloring and water mixed in a spray bottle. Some neighbor kids in the apartment complex loved it and want to make something out of snow like it too.
I love reading your Wish Jar Journal, Keri.
You have such inspiring ideas! It is a joy to visit this place.
May Your New Year Be Full of Blessing's!
Warmly,
Flassie
Happy New Year
