this project was created for some friends and I thought I would make it available to you. it’s completely free! (or if you wish you can make a donation to the Stephen Lewis Foundation via a donation page I set up through Canada Helps.) See an excerpt of him speaking here, (he’s truly amazing.) Donations not necessary, but it feels good.
oh yes, and don’t forget the portable tree, from the archives. or the ever popular instant snow, (for those in warm climates. Penelope, this is for you).

Thanks for all the wonderful things you do and all the very important tips you write down. I am sure I am just one of the artists out there that love to hear that we aren’t the only ones!
Merry Christmas and hope you have a fantastic and prosperous 2007.

You are totally brilliant. I especially enjoyed the “I quit” card. A good reminder that, I AM doing what I love.
I made the portable tree last year and loved it! So fun!

I just watched Stephen Lewin on The Nature of Things with David Suzuki last night! (Even though we are in North Carolina, David and I have managed to get Canadian satelite service … Now if I could just figure out how to get some snow down here for Christmas …) He truly is an amazing force to be reckoned with. Kudos to you for putting these links on your blog… I think I had better click one of them …

keri! these are fabulous. my job isn’t as an artist but the survival guide still totally would work. These are applicable no matter what your proffession.
Fabulous. I may have to print out a few copies of these.
Thank you for such a fabulous gift!

Wow, that’s beautiful! I love dogs. I own (or rather she owns me!) a beautiful Cinnamon Chow named Cheat.
I’m looking at artist’s (in particular writers) blogs in hopes of finding out if blogging helps promote you. Have you found it helpful?
I have a site at http://www.craftedfromtheheart.com and am looking for ways to promote it. Have you found this to be a good avenue? I’m giving a go at marketing my own work (kind of like Stephen King did on the web – of course he has no problem with marketability, lol)
Thanks!

love the snowflakes!
These ones are really beautiful and fun to do also: http://www.popularfront.com/snowdays. And the more of these ones you make, the more money is donated…. so, flake away!

Keri,
I so needed this! Thank you!!
11:09 pm
Haven’t checked in a while, love the last seven entries especially.
The blue birds, the red bag, the white dog, even the dead skin cells.
Good luck with completing the book. Lots of love.
11:21 pm
Thanks, Keri! I needed that.
6:03 am
I love your little digital gifts! Printed the kit and it’s going into my ‘Recipe box of secrets’ Except for the ‘artistic advice card’ which hangs above my computer to remind me of going out and do something else.
Thanks so much!! :)
4:36 pm
Keri, this is so freakin’ cool! I would like to translate this kit into german and share it with german artists, may I? If you give me your email, I will send you the first pages of my german version and you decide whether to say “yeah, go on” or “uh no, stop it” – ok?
9:55 pm
These cards are so dang cute and incredibly clever. I would pin the little award on your shirt for Outstanding Achievement in Uncovering Delicacies for the Soul. Thank you for hunting and sharing.
7:52 pm
thank you thank you thank you!!! This is wonderful- i definitely could use this these days.
6:58 pm
What a fantastic idea! Whenever I’m feeling dejected or down about my art, I always look back at your post about how to feel bad as an artist. It always puts things into perspective and gives me a boost.
8:54 am
After days of ripping and reworking the same neckline, wondering why I chose a career in the arts, your early xmas gift brought much needed holiday cheer. How can one not laugh?!
3:06 pm
thank you. i looked at the pages. have not downloaded them yet but i come back to your blog often so this will just be one more reason!
